Vasily Makarovich Shukshin (Russian: Василий Макарович Шукшин; 25 July 1929 – 2 October 1974) was a Soviet Russian writer, actor, screenwriter and film director from the Altai region who specialized in rural themes.
Vasiliy Shukshin was a Russian writer, actor and director who starred in popular films such as Kalina krasnaya and Zhivyot takoy paren. He also wrote novels and short stories that were translated and sold worldwide, and was posthumously awarded the State Prize of the USSR.
