The park boasts a 13-acre lake, 10 acres of turf, a rose garden, and lush growth of native and ornamental plants, including live oak, willow, laurel, thimbleberry, ninebark, hazelnut, ferns, and blackberry.
Lake Temescal, overseen by the East Bay Regional Park District, is extremely clean with great views of the natural landscape, water, and overlooks the entire East Bay/Oakland Hills area once you hike up the hill-y trail. It's a good 2-3 mile hike that loops around one full circle.
