In 1958, seven men, inspired by the work of one of the world's greatest astronomers and native of Delaware, Annie Jump Cannon, founded the Mount Cuba Astronomical Observatory (MCAO) as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. MCAO's mission is is focused on astronomy education at all levels while maintaining an active program of astronomical research.

Oct 15, 2015 · An amazingly accurate sundial is located right next to the parking lot that will tell clock time. The Sunquest Sundial was designed by Richard L. Schmoyer in the 1950s and was featured in the October 1959 issue of Scientific American. It is great to be able to get this close to the sundial and to use it to set your watch.
