Wickliffe Mounds is located on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi-Ohio River confluence in Wickliffe, Kentucky. The site consists of two platform mounds, several burial mounds, a plaza, and associated living areas.
Apr 22, 2018 · Just outside of the little town of Cairo, Illinois, are two bridges. One crosses the Ohio River heading southeast into Kentucky. This is where we happened upon the Wyckliffe Mounds State Historic Park. There are many mound sites and artifacts about a native Indian tribe that lived in the area.

Jun 5, 2015 · The museum at Wickliffe Mounds contains the remains of an excavated mound and artifacts demonstrating that the area under the mound had been used for family dwellings. The mounds that still exist include a ceremonial mound, a burial structure, and the mound that would have supported the chief's home.
