Bay Point Park is located along the winding Mississippi River near downtown Red Wing. We spent some quiet time here just relaxing as it was close to the St. James Hotel where we were staying. It offers picnic areas, a play structure, volleyball court, boat launch and a walking path which is open all year long and lit during evening hours.
And the first thing you notice waking the park, is the famed Red Wing logo -- the classic single red wing flying high across the century old grains silos. Observe the big dock with huge wooden piers -- still used for barges, still holding memories of a major port city on the Mississippi.
