    A true L.A. original. Dec 2023 • solo. Philippe's goes back to 1908 and claims to be be the inventor of the French dip sandwich. Whether or not that's true, it remains an Los Angeles institution. I've been there numerous times, but always go back to their delicious beef double dip with jack cheese.
