The Silk Covered Bridge is a covered bridge, carrying Silk Road across the Walloomsac River between downtown Bennington, Vermont and the village of North Bennington, United States. A Town lattice truss bridge, it was built in 1840, and is one of three covered bridges across the river in fairly close proximity.

One of three covered bridges in Bennington. Each one is a little off the beaten path but well worth it. These bridges are Vermont at its best. This one had a cross cross lattice design with a beautiful serene setting. The red color is amazing. Always worth a trip for these beautiful structures.

The Silk Road Covered Bridge, sometimes known simply as the Silk Bridge, was built circa 1840, with a span of 88 feet crossing the Walloomsac River at North Bennington Vt. An entrance to Bennington College is across the street. It's a lovely wooded area around here, almost hidden by the trees.
