The NET was designated as a National Scenic Trail in 2009. This unique footpath travels through a classic New England landscape, featuring long-distance vistas with rural towns as a backdrop, agrarian lands, un-fragmented forests, and large river valleys.
The New England Trail (NET), a nationally recognized scenic trail, now extends south to Chittenden Park in Guilford CT via the Menunkatuck Trail. The section reviewed here is the road walk from Chittenden Park to the trailhead where the NET enters the woods on Clapboard Hill Rd.
