   Is Agate Beach a good beach?

   • At all. The beach is very wide and there’s a bit of a walk to get to the water. Lots of people gathering for BBQ and get togethers on the beach when we were there. A bit windy. Lots and lots and lots of dead crabs and washed up jellyfish everywhere. Not a single agate at Agate Beach.

   Where is Agate Beach wayside?

   • Agate Beach Wayside is situated between the new and old highway 101. There is a large parking lot with room for trailer parking. The beach access trail consists of a tunnel that goes underneath the old highway 101 to a large sandy beach area. The wayside was purchased from the Lincoln County Development Company in 1969 after litigation.

   What happened at Agate Beach?

   • Lots and lots and lots of dead crabs and washed up jellyfish everywhere. Not a single agate at Agate Beach. It was more like a beach of the dead because of all the dead crabs and crab pieces everywhere. Yuck.
