Lamentation Mountain is a small state park on the westerly slope of the mountain near Berlin / Meriden town line. It is most often accessed through the Mattabesett Trail . Often confused with Giuffrida Park, Lamentation Mountain State Park is further north and below the ridge.

Lamentation Mountain State Park covers 47 acres of pristine land in Berlin, Connecticut. While it may not be the largest state park in the area, its compact size allows for a more intimate and immersive nature experience. Parking: There are two main access points for the park.

I’ve seen this small, unremarkable state park also referred to as a “state park scenic reserve.” Because Connecticut doesn’t like to make anything easy. Lamentation Mountain itself includes a long ridge with nice views… but that ridge and summit is actually west of the park itself.
