  7. Historic Fort Concho is about a 15 minute walk across the river from downtown San Angelo. Admission was a reasonable $5 and staff on site were extremely friendly and helpful. The site is huge and there are lots of buildings to explore. Definitely a must visit if you’re in San Angelo.
