This is a list of animated short films produced by Terrytoons from 1929 to 1971, and later Filmation from 1968 to 1971. First produced by Paul Terry from 1929 to 1956, and then by CBS from 1953 to 1971, this list does also included cartoons originally produced for TV that were later screened in theaters 1959–1971.
TERRYTOONS ORIGINAL TITLES. Terrytoons, the New Rochelle New York studio run by Paul Terry, was considered the bottom of the barrel. But with popular characters like MIGHTY MOUSE, HECKLE & JECKLE, GANDY GOOSE and SOURPUSS, with great Jim Tyer animation — and wonderful opening title art — this studio has it’s fans.
One of the more obscure yet prolific studios from The Golden Age of Animation, Terrytoons was an animation studio with a close relationship with 20th Century Fox, who handled distribution of the cartoons throughout much of its history note . It was founded by former Van Beuren employee Paul Terry.
