    Danny Lee "Nitro" Clark (born May 21, 1964) is a television personality, author, actor, motivational speaker, former NFL player and producer. He is best known for his role as gladiator "Nitro" on the TV show, American Gladiators. He is also an in demand health and fitness expert and the creator of the "Gladiator Rock'n Run".

    Dan makes a guest appearance on Married... with Children as Biff, a parachute diving instructor, in the Season 6 episode, "The Mystery of Skull Island".

    Danny began his career as an athlete, playing football for San Jose State University, where he was a standout defensive lineman. Clark was also a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He then went on to play briefly in the NFL for the Los Angeles Rams and in the Professional European League.

    After being cut from the Rams, he moved to Hollywood to pursue acting.

    Clark is best known from the syndicated game show, American Gladiators, having worked on both the original version from 1989 to 1992, and the first revival version from 1994 to 1995. On the show, he was the gladiator "Nitro" and then during the original show's final season, he was the analyst and co-host for the show.

    When American Gladiators returned to the U.S. airwaves on ESPN Classic on April 1, 2007, the network aired a marathon of episodes. Clark was the on-air host for that marathon, telling behind-the-scenes stories and trivia about the series in between the episodes.

    Clark also conducted an ESPN chat session related with the show and was one of the producers of the revamped 2008 version that aired on NBC for two seasons.

    In 2023, he produced and appeared in the Netflix docu-series, Muscles & Mayhem: An Unauthorized Story of American Gladiators, where he and his former castmates talk about their time on the show.

    After American Gladiators, Clark turned to acting, appearing in such motion pictures as Death Becomes Her, with Meryl Streep, Bruce Willis, and Goldie Hawn and Equilibrium, with Christian Bale.

    He has also guest starred in TV series including Ellen, Walker, Texas Ranger, California Dreams, V.I.P.,  Who's the Boss?, Saved by the Bell, and The Brothers Garcia.

    His last credited acting role was the voice of a pedestrian in the 2004 video game, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

    Additionally, he was the writer/director/producer of the independent film, Looking for Bruce. He has also written several screenplays for various studios, producers, and production companies.

    In 2010, he created the "Gladiator Rock'n Run", a mud run that challenges participants to run and crawl through a 5 kilometer obstacle course, with proceeds going to the "Talk About Curing Autism" charity. After hosting the event for 10 years, a final mud run was scheduled in 2020, but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

    He has authored two books: Gladiator: A True Story of 'Roids, Rage, and Redemption in 2009 and F Dying: How Cheating Death Kicked My Ass into Loving, Learning and Living My Best Life in 2017.

    He currently works as a motivational speaker and life coach.

    In 2018, he also gave a TEDx talk on how to live a happy life after major setbacks.

    Clark currently resides in the Hollywood Hills and remains active in sports. He also holds a black belt in the Korean martial art of Tae Kwon Do.

    He was previously married to actress Linda Cevallos from 1999 to 2003. He is currently in a long term relationship and raising the woman's son. He also has an older son from a relationship he had with an older woman at the age of 23.

    He is half-Asian, having been born to a Japanese mother and white father.

    On December 18, 2013, Clark suffered a near-fatal heart attack, despite having been an athlete for most of his life. The event forced him to reevaluate his life and inspired him to write the book, F Dying: How Cheating Death Kicked My Ass into Loving, Learning and Living My Best Life.
