Synopsis. In 1944, 2nd world war was in its 5th year and still going Hitler's way. In June 1944, with D-Day, the Allied forces landed in Europe and by July the Allied armies were launching their own offensives. By Aug, Paris was liberated. But the supplies for the Allied army were still coming from Normandy and the supply lines became unreliable.
