Charlie LeBlanc (Burt Reynolds), a wealthy executive, has just been diagnosed with a terminal illness. With only a few months left to live, he makes plans to leave his entire fortune to his wife, Lilly (Saffron Burrows). But before he finalizes his will, he hires Jimmy (Peter Facinelli), a young law student, to test his wife's fidelity. Lilly rejects Jimmy at first, but is soon won over by his charm.
