The original ABCs of Death was an interesting horror anthology experiment in which 26 directors shot 26 shorts, each concerning a subject that began with a different letter of the alphabet, the main thrust of the films being death.
The likes of Ti West, Ben Wheatley, Angela Bettis, Jake West, Jason Eisner, Xavier Gans, Adam Wingard and Nacho Vigalondo all contributed segments to the original film.
The content of that film was oftentimes quite shocking, and the results ranged from brilliant (Dogfight) to weird (Zetsumetsu) to hilarious (Quack) to downright terrible (Miscarriage).
The producers placed the same budgetary and time constraints on each director, and so to reflect that, we placed similar restrictions on our review, summing up each movie in 26 words or less.
While the shock quotient is lower and the concept still flawed - with 26 shorts in a row something of an endurance test - the quality is higher this time around, meaning that ABCs 2 featuring many more hits than misses.

The good news is that The ABCs of Death 2 is a noticeable improvement over the previous anthology effort, spinning new tales of disaster and irony with greater concentration and imagination.
