Divorced Wes Block (Clint Eastwood) is a New Orleans, Louisiana homicide detective who has custody of his two adolescent daughters, Amanda (Alison Eastwood) and Penny (Jenny Beck). Father and daughters have a special bond with each other.
What makes "Tightrope" better than just another police movie are the scenes between Eastwood and the women he encounters. Some of them are hookers. Some are victims. One of them, played by Geneviève Bujold, is a feminist who teaches women's self-defense classes.
