Lucky Luciano is a 1973 Italian/French/US international co-production crime film about the Sicilian-American gangster Charles “Lucky” Luciano, played by Gian Maria Volonté. It is directed by Francesco Rosi, and written by Rosi, Tonino Guerra, Lino Iannuzzi, and Jerome Chodorov.

After ordering the slaughter of fellow consigliere, mafioso Lucky Luciano is finally put in jail. In 1946, he is pardoned and is sent back to Sicilia. There, he becomes a head mafia boss as the U.S. Army appears to turn a blind eye.
