The main feature could have more than likely benefitted from a new restoration but as it is I still felt it looked sharp and I was pleased with the results. Permalink. *** This review may contain spoilers *** His Girl Friday starts out strong with witty banter exchanged by Cary Grant as Walter Burns and Rosalind Russell as Hildy Johnson. Cary and Rosalind had a lot of chemistry in this film. Walter Burns is a blunt, impatient, controlling, man.
Jan 9, 2017 · His Girl Friday positively revels in their absence. From her ex, Hildy gets none of the little courtesies that in 1940 were supposed to make women feel respected. Walter pulls out his cigarettes without a word to Hildy; she asks for one and he tosses it to her, and the matches soon follow—no Now, Voyager rituals here.
