Vivacious Lady (1938) is a screwball comedy with a kick (not to mention a lot of punches and slaps). Ginger Rogers plays nightclub performer Frances Brent who, in one night, meets, falls in love with and marries small-town botany professor Peter Morgan (James Stewart).
Assistant biology professor Peter Morgan falls in love with and marries nightclub singer Francey while he is in New York to fetch his wayward cousin home. On returning to the small town university run by his dictatorial and conservative father his courage fails him when he has to announce things.
