L'Homme Qui Rêvait d'un Enfant plot. For a reason he denies, Alfred can no longer speak. One day, when he has fled again from a kiss from the woman he loved and he feels the loneliness, he makes a decision. He wants to adopt a child. Against all odds, his request is accepted.
But more than anything, Alfred wants a child. As natural fatherhood is out of the question he takes the next best option, and makes an application to adopt.
