George Blair directs - a journeyman with no real credits of distinction, he had started in the unofficial prequel to this film, Secrets of Scotland Yard, also featuring Smith as the elderly detective. He went on to do a handful of B-Westerns and finished his career with Sabu and the Magic Ring in 1957 and the TV series The Adventures of Superman.
