Murder at the Savoy (original title: Polis, polis, potatismos! literally "Police, Police, Mashed Potatoes!") is a 1970 crime novel by Swedish writers Maj Sjöwall and Per Wahlöö. It is the sixth book out of ten in the detective series by revolving around police detective Martin Beck.

Jan 1, 2001 · I want more socio-economic criticism from the radical left (although their brand of Marxism is hardly radical), so I am thrilled that Polis, polis, potatismos! (the original Swedish title of Murder at the Savoy) and its Marxist ending finally satisfied my craving for more.

Murder at the Savoy (Swedish: Polis, polis, potatismos) is a Swedish/German film from 1993, based on the 1970 book Murder at the Savoy.
The swedish title Polis Polis Potatismos is a rhyme with a twist. Police police potatopig is the original rhyme while Potatismos is mashed potato. In the movie a little kid see two policemen taking a break eating sasuage with mashed potato and the kid express "Polis Polis Potatismos" and the police take it as an insult while it isnt.
