360 VR Image by Kevin S. Abel. The Red Canyon Visitor Center is located just off Highway 12 enroute to Bryce Canyon National Park amid the spectacular red sandstone spires and formations. This area has been called the "most photographed place in Utah". It is easy to see why, with the brilliant red soil contrasted with the green pines.
The Red Canyon Campground is easy to find from the highway and only 0.6 miles past the Red Canyon Visitor Center. Surrounded by Pink Claron Limestone formations and ponderosa pines, campground amenities inlcude drinking water, flushable toilets, showers, a dump station, garbage disposal and 37 campsites with picnic tables, fire pits and tent pads.
A U.S. Forest Service campground is across the road from the visitor center. For a closer look at the unique scenery, Red Canyon features an extensive and well-maintained trail system that provides something for everyone. The Birdseye Trail is a moderate .8-mile hike offering spectacular close-up views of the red rock formations.

The scenic byway offers breathtaking views of towering red rock formations, hoodoos, and unique geological features, making it a popular destination for tourists and nature enthusiasts.
Red Canyon is just outside of Panguitch, Utah, and only a few minutes from Bryce Canyon City on highway 12. It is part of the Dixie National Forest. It is a great collection of hoodoos and other rock formations. There is a nice visitor center and the area is run by the National Forest Service.
