Petty crook Eddie Hall (Clark Gable) ducks into a random apartment to hide from police and ends up falling for its resident, bombshell Ruby Adams (Jean Harlow). Hall and his accomplice, Slim (Garry Owen), convince Ruby to help them con a married man. But their plan goes horribly awry and Hall flees the scene.
