A Day at the Beach (1970) is the very definition of an unknown lost masterpiece. The screenplay was written by Roman Polanski, and contained a brief cameo appearance by Peter Sellers. Bernie, who is an extremely articulate and perceptive but self-destructive alcoholic, is looking after his young niece Winnie, who is in constant pain due to her leg.
