      • This is an entertaining and intelligent film that stands apart from the mass produced B picture westerns that Audie Murphy was best known for. Focusing on character rather than gunplay, No Name On the Bullet is an intriguing tale of how paranoia can destroy people and how the past never stays dead and buried.

  3. User Reviews. In No Name on the Bulllet, Audie Murphy got to star in one of the most unusual and best westerns in his career when he was cast in this off beat tale of a hired killer. 7. It's this suggestion of inner violence ready to erupt which makes Murphy's performance in No Name on the Bullet one of his best. Murphy, however, wasted little time on analyzing his acting or reading critical notices; he saw movies as little more than profitable work for hire.

An off-beat psychological Western that emphasizes the study of character. It’s only bearable, deserving of a more imaginative working for its intriguing premise about collective fear.
