Young, rebellious Englishwoman Dot (Rita Tushingham) escapes her dull family life by impulsively marrying bike mechanic Reggie (Colin Campbell). Their union, however, begins falling apart almost immediately, particularly after Reggie meets handsome young mod Pete (Dudley Sutton).
