How to Pray the Rosary. The Rosary is a Scripture-based prayer. It begins with the Apostles' Creed, which summarizes the great mysteries of the Catholic faith. The Our Father, which introduces each mystery, is from the Gospels.
The steps to praying the Rosary are: Make the Sign of the Cross and pray the “Apostles’ Creed”. Pray the “Our Father”. Pray three “Hail Marys” for Faith, Hope, and Charity. Pray the “Glory Be”. Announce the First Mystery and then pray the “Our Father”. Pray ten “Hail Marys” while meditating on the Mystery.

The Rosary is an important devotion that honors Mary while focusing on the events in the life of Jesus Christ.
The Holy Rosary of the Virgin Mary is a contemplative and Christocentric prayer. With the Holy Rosary we meditate the mysteries of joy, of sorrow, of light, and the glory of Jesus and Mary. The word Rosary means Crown of Roses.
The Rosary is begun on the short strand: The Sign of the Cross (sometimes using the cross or crucifix); The Apostles' Creed (the cross or crucifix is held in the hand); The Lord's Prayer at the first large bead (for the needs of the Catholic Church and the intentions of the reigning pope );
The first contains joyful mysteries (recited on Mondays and Saturdays); the second, the mysteries of light (Thursdays); the third, the sorrowful mysteries (Tuesdays and Fridays); and the fourth, the glorious mysteries (Wednesdays and Sundays).
What is the Rosary? The rosary is a Christ-centered prayer, rooted in Sacred Scripture, that helps us meditate on the lives of Jesus and Mary. The rosary is a Catholic devotion in which we ask for the intercession of Mary, the Mother of God, in drawing closer to her divine Son, Jesus.
The Apostles' Creed. I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried;
The Rosary begins with the Apostles Creed, followed by one Our Father, three Hail Marys (traditionally offered for an increase in faith, hope, and charity for those praying the Rosary), then the Glory Be.
