  3. Chato's Land. Summaries. In 1870s New Mexico, a half-breed kills a bigoted sheriff in self-defense but the posse that eventually hunts him finds itself in dangerous territory. After a deadly confrontation with the racist local sheriff in the town's whites-only bar, the half-Apache, Pardon Chato, flees into the unforgiving desert.

  4. Synopsis. While drinking at a bar, in 1870s New Mexico territory, bigoted sheriff Eli Saunders provokes Pardon Chato, a man of mixed white and Apache heritage. Resenting that the "redskin nigger" is being served, Eli pulls a gun on Chato, forcing the quiet man into a draw which results in Saunders' death.
