5/10. The Stepfather: Sub-par remake. Platypuschow 28 November 2017. Of all the films to remake The Stepfather (1987) starring the excellent Terry O'Quinn seems like a really peculiar choice. I personally enjoyed the original and to an extent its two sequels but went into this assuming the worst.
THE STEPFATHER is a breath of fresh air in a stale genre, an offbeat and unpredictable movie which grips from beginning to end and focuses on the human mind as a source of horror instead of a silly scaly monster, thus making the terrors "closer to home" as it were. 7/10. Great Cyberpath Psycho Killer Movie.
