Crackerjack is no masterpiece, not of sports films, comedies, sport comedies, or Australian films about adorable eccentrics (a genre that, for my taste, peaked with Baz Luhrmann's 1992 film debut, Strictly Ballroom, which featured Hunter as the villain).
