Mar 5, 2005 · The starring sub, the I-507, is a gift of the dying Nazi empire to the Japanese Navy in the closing days of the war. This sleek behemoth is equipped with imaging technology that is far in advance of the era's primitive sonar -- and is pure manga-esque invention.
The film opens on July 18, 1945, when the I-507 launches torpedoes and destroys an American sub. The crewmembers of the American destroyer Fleischer witness this destruction, and the very same destroyer improbably encounters the I-507 three separate times on its five-day trip from Japan to Tinian.
Brief Synopsis. During the last days of WWII, a submarine and its crew stop the United States from dropping a third atomic bomb on the already defeated Japan.

Die Ausmaße dieses "Geschützturms" hätten eine riesige Öffnung im Druckkörper erforderlich gemacht, und damit eine tödliche Gefahrenquelle. Beschädigungen und der folgende Wassereinbruch hätten zum Totalverlust geführt. Dieses Mensch-Maschine-Interface "Lorelei" ist so schwachsinnig, dass ich es nicht weiter kommentieren möchte.
