Tommy Gordon (Edwin Phillips) and Eddie Smith (Frankie Darro) go looking for jobs as their families suffer during the Great Depression. Bound for the city, the teens share a rail car with Sally (Dorothy Coonan), a youth in similar straits, and they become friends, deciding to stay together when they reach Chicago.
