Former master hunter Rayburn has turned private ranger since his animal-loving teen daughter's disappearance five years ago, presumably victim of a local serial killer, having turned alcoholic and established a wildlife sanctuary, named Gwen Swanson after her, in a vast forest, where he guides people.
