The Mysterious Note. Some time after Aventus Aretino rewards you for killing Grelod the Kind and you've left Windhelm, a courier will approach you and deliver a Mysterious Note bearing the ominous words "We know."
With Friends Like These... is a quest available in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. After the quest "Innocence Lost" has been completed, a courier will appear and give the Dragonborn a note with the imprint of a black hand and the words "We Know" written beneath it.

This quest begins after the Dragonborn kills Grelod the Kind and subsequently receives a Mysterious Note via courier bearing the sign of the Dark Brotherhood. After the note has been delivered, the next time the Dragonborn sleeps, he wakes up in an Abandoned Shack and is greeted by Astrid .
