Most quiches are made using pie crust, which will work just fine, but since I already had sourdough on hand, I decided to use it for my skillet quiche. Using a crust to build the quiche in will help it to keep its form when slicing and serving. Feel free to use any type of crust that works best for you.
As I said, I took my favorite ingredients from all the common quiches and stuck them in here. This recipe is full of eggs, white cheddar cheese, ham, chives and diced potatoes. Some other ingredients that go well in quiche include peppers, onions, spinach, bacon, breakfast sausageand any spices that suit your taste buds.
This quiche fits perfectly in a 10″ cast iron skillet. Start by spreading 1 cup of dough (I am using sourdough), but pie crust will also work well in the skillet; spread as thin as possible.
