  3. Oct 17, 2014 · “The Best of Me,” the ninth Sparks-based film, falls squarely in the mediocre category and makes 2004’s “The Notebook” seem like “Casablanca.” It revolves around a second chance at true love as high-school sweethearts are reunited after 20 years following the death of a mutual friend.

  4. The Best of Me turns into a half-baked dramatic thriller, with violent confrontations, gunfights, plenty of nasty characters and one big scary action scene. Full Review | Original Score:...

  7. The movie to me was very moving, and also very heartwarming. The younger characters of Dawson Amanda, played by Luke Bracey and Liana Liberato were very spot on. They portrait the love that both versions of Dawson and Amanda had for each other. Younger Dawson and older Dawson stayed the same.

  8. Weepy Nicholas Sparks melodrama is cliché-ridden, violent. Read Common Sense Media's The Best of Me review, age rating, and parents guide.
