John (Ronald Reagan) is a young scientist on vacation at the Florida coast. While there, he meets Ann (Viveca Lindfors), a widow who is still struggling to recover from the loss of her husband during World War II. John is able to help Ann overcome her personal demons and learn to love again. But John has his own problem that he's hiding from Ann: he's epileptic. And the condition is getting worse.
