The movie was not what I expected but it was entertaining. Betty Sun's character Little Tiger is one of the strongest female characters I have seen in a while. A 19th century Chinese woman with her skills (martial arts, explosives expertise, psychology) would be truly amazing.

Iron Road is basically a live-action Mulan with its story of a Chinese girl (Sun Li) who opts to disguise herself as a man to access opportunities denied her. In this case, it's a way out of China when she accepts a job as a migrant worker building a railroad in early Canada.
