CBGB, music club located in New York City that became legendary for staging performances by punk and new wave bands. It was founded by Hilly Kristal in 1973 and helped launch the careers of such groups as Talking Heads, Blondie, and the Ramones. It closed in 2006.
Stiv Bators, Cheetah Chrome, Jimmy Zero and Johnny Blitz were their names. The were without a bass player at that time but it was soon to be Jeff Magnum.
