Overview. Madeleine, who runs a disco on the French-Swiss border, dreams of going to Paris to pursue a singing career. Her lover, Paul, who makes his living smuggling money, gold and goods across the border, plans to emigrate to Canada.
A group of young people smuggle illegal cargo across the Swiss-French border and meet up regularly in a nightclub as a means of escape from their drab lives. Caught between staying and leaving, Paul smuggles some gold into Switzerland, unaware that the police are hot on his trail.
