As Francisco Franco 's heavy shadow still looms over early-1980s Andalusia, two polar opposites--the hard-boiled homicide detective, Pedro Suárez, and his young idealist partner, Juan Robles--arrive in a backwater village to investigate the double disappearance of two teenage sisters.
A pair of true detectives get their hands dirty investigating the brutal rape, mutilation and murder of teenage girls. Set in 1980, we get an intriguing mystery involving photographs, darkrooms and political corruption in a damp, sweltering marshland setting.
