- Moeller's film is overall well made, with a decent script. Playing out in the world of music makes it unique and compelling enought, but ultimately, it's not very remarkable. Boyer makes for a good Roberti, a slick, suave and womanizing star composer, while Hepburn plays a rather unique role as well, not really fitting her usual screen persona.

Review by Fint ★★ 3. For a film that is explicitly about matters of the heart, there is something half-hearted about Break of Hearts. Katharine Hepburn and Charles Boyer, though individually good, display no true chemistry.
