Sporting an excellent cast and appealing stylistic elements, ILLTOWN visits the theme of what happens when people trapped in a life of crime they began as kids are drawn by the normal maturation process to middle-class values.
Jan 16, 1998 · Overview. Dante and his girlfrend Micky run a very profitable drug operation in a seaside town, aided and abetted by a host of teens who sell the smack at discos around town, as well as by Lucas, a corrupt cop who's on the take.
One of the most unfairly neglected films of the nineties, Nick Gomez's uniquely ambitious Illtown takes the often overly emphatic and familiar beats of a crime drama and transforms the downward spiral of it's antiheroes into a hypnagogic ghost story that thrums with dark poetry.
