Storm Fear - Still one of the most rudely unsung directorial voices in Hollywood history, Cornel Wilde began producing and then directing his own movies in the mid-'50s, as he saw the decline of choices loom in his leading-man career.
During a snow storm in upstate New England, novelist Fred Blake, his wife Elizabeth and young son David are trapped inside their remote cabin in the hills. Their only contact with the outside world is their phone and a hired hand, Hank, who occasionally brings them the mail and supplies.
Much of this gripping crime drama takes place in a remote New England farm house owned by the brother of a bank robber. The crook is mortally wounded during his last heist and suddenly shows up seeking shelter. The brother reluctantly harbors the fugitive and his henchmen.
