The movie is a retread of Norman Jewison's 1968 film, which starred Steve McQueen as a millionaire bank robber opposite Faye Dunaway, and had a lot of split-screen photography that quickly wore out its welcome. The remake has a superior caper but less chemistry.

Aug 6, 1999 · Great romance-crime-drama featuring two wonderful performances from Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo who share incredible chemistry in their cat-and-mouse play. The crime element is also well done, although how Crowne gets the painting into that small briefcase still confuses me.
