Website. www .rembrandthuis .nl. The Rembrandt House Museum ( Dutch: Museum Het Rembrandthuis) is a museum located in a former house in the Jodenbreestraat, in the center of Amsterdam. Between 1639 and 1658, the house was occupied by the Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn, who also had his studio and art dealership there.
In 1906, during the Rembrandt Year, the foundation has been established to buy the house of the painter. In 1911, after a thorough restoration, the Museum has been opened to the public. The Amsterdam Rembrandt House Museum is a reconstruction of Rembrandt’s rooms and of his workshop.

The Rembrandt House Museum has built up a large collection of artworks of not only paintings and drawings, but also almost all of Rembrandt’s etchings.
Mar 24, 2023 · Last week, the Rembrandt House Museum reopened in Amsterdam after a four-month closure, offering 30 percent more Rembrandt van Rijn in the building where the artist lived and worked—plus a forthcoming artist residency program that harkens back to the history of students studying there under the Dutch Golden Age master.
