Skyfire is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Höör, Skåne County . Biography. Skyfire was formed in the town of Höör, Sweden in 1995 by Andreas Edlund (guitar), Martin Hanner (bass guitar), Jonas Sjögren (guitar) and Tobias Björk (drums). The four were friends since high school and had similar tastes in music.

Having just released a new album after 5 years of absence, Swedish melodic death metallers Skyfire are finally back. Time to get to know this band a bit better and to hear them out on why it took them so long to release a new album (be sure to read the review on that one on our website soon!).
Skyfire themselves are an anomaly of a band in the bottle-necked scene they occupy. They eschew the use of the familial shred-happy and erratic mold normally associated with more renowned acts, instead guiding the music by virtue of the homogenization triggered by the distant, twinkling synths and grumbling distortion.

Skyfire's Mind Revolution builds upon Timeless Departure and expands upon it, for the better. Mind Revolution fixes many (very small) issues Timeless Departure had. The album has a heavier feel and is far more powerful than its predescesor.
