    2020: Debut with "Star To A Young Culture", fandom name

    On September 8, Highup Entertainment revealed that producer duo Black Eyed Pilseung would be debuting their first rookie girl group in the second half of 2020. On the same day, the group's first member, Sieun, was announced. The next day, September 9, Sumin and Seeun were revealed as the group's second and third members respectively. On October 7, 2020, it was revealed the group would consist six members, and would debut sometime in November. On October 12, 2020, the group's debuting name, STAYC, was revealed. From October 13 to 15, the prologue teasers for the members (Bae Soo Min, Yoon, Park Si Eun, Isa, Seeun and J respectively) were released, and on October 16, the group's teaser was released. On October 23, a scheduler was posted on the group's social medias, marking their debut to November 12. On this day, the group officially debuted with their first single album "Star To A Young Culture" and its title track "So Bad". On December 31, 50 days after the group's debut, STAYC announced their official fandom name to be "Swith". The name, which was chosen from a list of over 1,000 entries by fans, is a combination of STAYC and "WITH", meaning "Together with STAYC" or "I'll be by STAYC's side." Additionally, as "Swith" sounds like the Korean pronunciation of the word "sweet", the name also refers to STAYC's "sweet and lovely" fans.

    2021: First comeback with "Staydom", Stereotype, first music show win

    On March 18, it was revealed that STAYC was preparing for their first ever comeback. A teaser posted onto the group's social medias on March 24 announced their second single album, titled "Staydom", which was released on April 8 with its title track "ASAP". For this comeback, they changed their logo to a more comical bubbly form, to match the theme of the comeback. On April 1, STAYC's agency Highup Entertainment revealed that the group was selected as models for LG Household & Health's cosmetics brand. On August 4, a source from High Up Entertainment confirmed reports stating that the group was preparing for a comeback. However, a specific date was yet to be set. On August 15, a spoiler image was released for STAYC's first mini album, Stereotype which was released on September 6. On September 14, STAYC achieved their first music show win with the song "Stereotype" on SBS's The Show.

    2022: Young-Luv.com, "We Need Love", Japanese debut

    On January 28, High Up Entertainment announced that STAYC is currently preparing a new album with the goal of releasing it sometime in February. They are in the final preparations and the schedule for the comeback would be released at a later date. On February 7, a spoiler teaser video was released which revealed that STAYC would be coming back with their second mini album, Young-Luv.com. The next day, a scheduler was released which revealed that the album would be released on February 21. On this day, the mini album, along with its title track "Run2U", were released. On June 30, High Up Entertainment announced that the group had recently completed filming the music video for their upcoming comeback, which is slated for mid-July. On July 1, a teaser photo posted across the group's social medias announced their third single album, titled "We Need Love", would be released on July 19. On October 13, the group announced their plan to make their Japanese debut with their first single, "Poppy", which would be released on November 23.
